Gannet Braid

A 12 strand line with each of the 12 strands being its own braided iKore twine

The main feature of this line is the abrasion resistance. It will significantly outlast a regular 12 strand UHMWPE line.

For purselines, corklines or riblines the Black and White Gannet Braid is recommended as it gives a very quick and easy reference for the line being straight when assembling it as a corkline or ribline, or when used as a purseline it will quickly show if a twist is being introduced during use.

This line is incredibly easy to splice in the regular lay. It is a tough, line to splice when it is the hard lay, consider an hour per splice.

Gannet Braid comes in 2 lays, regular and hard lay. The hard lay was designed specifically for use in a pot hauler sheave situation, where there is a tendancy for lines to get flattened from the pressure of the sheaves. The regular lay has multiple uses, as a purseline where a drum or capstan is used for hauling, or as a rigging winch line or as a general purpose line where there is a need for a really strong, tough, rugged line.

This line has successfully replaced steel wire as a purseline or winch line, it also makes for an incredibly tough corkline or ribline.
