Floats

Duralite DF-Series

View product sheet & spec sheet here

The DF-Series Floats are designed and developed considering the need for a stronger fishing float during the modern age of fishing. The floats are designed keeping in mind the developments in the quality of ropes. The use of strong UHMWPE ropes cut the regular EVA floats through the hole.

DF-Series floats are developed and tested to withstand high tensile strength and are suitable for stronger ropes. The specifications of DF-Series EVA float helps in faster net assembly. This saves a lot of time and labor.

At our R&D Department, we are constantly innovating and working towards making our products better every day.

  • The DF-Series Purse Seine Floats are manufactured from Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA). Advanced production technology guarantees floats of superior quality.

DF-Series floats are light in weight, have very high tensile strength and do not absorb any water. The outstanding elasticity of the DF-Series material provides floats that have the highest resistance to shrinkage, permanent deformation and breakage.

  • There are 2 types available from Gannet Nets.

The GN series is made with the rigors of Alaskan seining in mind. Nets are hauled faster and more aggressively in Alaska than anywhere else I have travelled. Standard EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) floats are being ripped off. I developed the tougher GN float for this reason.

The GN Float has a Shore A hardness of 35. The GN float is available in sizes 15 to 30, the most common sizes used on Alaskan seines. Another difference in these GN floats is they are close to the same length, with just the diameter increasing as the sizes get larger. The GN float has a higher grade of EVA and the grommet is larger, fairer, and tougher than any other grommet, with the exception perhaps of Polyform of Norway, another fantastic float.

The grommet of the GN float stands out from the body of the float while other EVA seine floats have a recessed grommet, leaving the softer body of the float to bear the first strains from whatever rope or line holding them in place.

Then there is the DF series where the only differences are the grade of EVA and the Shore A hardness of approximately 25, the larger grommet is the same as the GN float.
